The famous Ludwig Museum of Contempary Art

Art and culture lovers are attracted to Cologne by the city´s museums such as the Museum Ludwig for modern art, the Museum für Angewandte Kunst for crafts, the Römisch-Germanisches Museum for Roman and Germanic antiquities and also Kolumba, the former diocesan museum which reopened in September 2007 in a new building by star architect Peter Zumthor. Also the city has a lively culture scene, which has a lot more to offer besides the famous television and movie stars: from light theatre to experimental productions of great classics: Cologne’s stage scene with its playhouse and opera as well as countless independent theatres is diverse and of high quality.
