Media Harbour

Lifestyle on the Rhine

The elegant, fun-loving city on the Rhine stands for fashion, shopping, culture and extraordinary events.

Great international designers present themselves on Königsallee, one of the most luxurious shoppers’ paradises in Europe. Small, exclusive boutiques, large fashion houses and galleries stand side by side with elegant street cafés – a true catwalk for the latest trends, ideal for seeing and being seen.

From there, it is just a few steps to the old town with more than 260 pubs and restaurants. In its narrow lanes with their easy atmosphere, countless small fashion stores and avant-garde shops have established themselves.

Most of the museums are in the Altstadt, the old town, or on its fringes, forming a virtual ‘art axis’ that runs parallel to the Rhine. It is complemented by numerous art galleries, artists’ studios and antique shops.

The Rhine embankment promenade, one of Düsseldorf’s most popular meeting points, leads to the MediaHarbour with the buildings designed by internationally renowned architects such as Frank O’Gehry.

Annual big events, such as the Japan-Festival, the Jazz Rally and the cross country ski world-cup attract hundreds of thousands.
