Leipzig becomes attractive as an economic location with the arrival of internationally renowned companies including Porsche and BMW. Today, the region's location marketing plans focus on the development of its automotive, biotechnical, media and logistics clusters.

The decision of DHL to set up its European air cargo hub at the Leipzig / Halle airport convinced other carriers and logistics companies to move to Leipzig as well.
