New Porsche Museum (Simulation; Opening: 31.01.2009)
On entering the foyer visitors will gain a first impression of what makes the Porsche brand so fascinating. Their eyes will be immediately drawn to the museum workshop for historical Porsche sports cars. Here, not only customers' vehicles receive expert attention, but also more than 300 museum vehicles which travel all over the world as part of the "rolling museum". Owing to the fact that the vehicles are regularly out on the road, the collection of 80 vehicles on display is continually changing.
The new museum is structured into three sections: the chronological illustration of the history of Porsche is the leitmotif which guides visitors through the exhibits. Parallel to this, exhibits from different eras will create thematic highlights leading to Porsche's most important models, most outstanding race rankings and technical innovations. The historical development and the individual thematic groups are then linked through numerous smaller exhibits which reflect the distinctive qualities, the "Porsche Concept" of the brand. The openplan architecture and the exhibition lay-out allow visitors plenty of freedom from the point of view of both space and content: they can follow the course of the history of the products chronologically, or pick out individual thematic groups.
The new Porsche Museum is at the same time an exhibition and events venue alike. Thanks to its extensive conference facilities and exclusive catering it can also be used for meetings, independent of the regular opening times.
